The Words I Kept Hidden

This space was not built to be quiet, it was built because silence kept growing teeth.

I write from the place where grief shapeshifts

where love and loss wear the same face, where survival feels mystical only because it shouldn’t have worked.

This blog, like my poetry book, is not about endings, i'ts about the act of staying. Of listening to what aches long enough for it to speak.

Before anything else, I want to leave you with a poem

The words I always kept hidden

came spilling out like waterfalls,

and everything I stood on dissolved

my beliefs washed away.

I can talk.

 I can keep going.

 Only if I have this.

Only if I can attain it.

I understand now.

You always ran from what you feared,

 from what you couldn’t provide

 warmth.

Any time someone came close,

you were already gone.

I understand you let your fears consume you

until your mind became a place permanently stuck in escape.

And now I’m left asking

Where will you go from here?

I don’t have answers yet. Only words, and the courage to keep placing them down.

If you see yourself in them, then this space is already doing what it was meant to do.
